Hey there, my name is Finley! I'm an amateur artist who likes making cute drawings of characters, whether they are well known, ones I've designed, or belong to someone else. While I specialize in character illustration, I also have a hobby for FOH audio engineering, music production, character design, animation, writing, photography, and video production. I get a lot of questions, especially about my video making or my art process, so here's a fun little list of common questions I get or things I really don't want to repeat anymore than I already do.

Professional Inquires

> I'm an individual, do you do art commissions?
I don't do personal commissions, sorry! If you want art of specific thing from me, feel free to ask me on tumblr! I don't always get around to the asks in a timely manor, if at all, and I don't always follow the request 1 to 1, but it's free and you're helping me grow as an artist. (pst, by the way, the ask box isn't limited to well known characters. I love learning about other people's OCs so don't be afraid to hit me with yours!)> I'm a company, do you do art commissions? / Are you open to partnerships?
I have no idea how I would accept payment at the moment, but if for whatever reason you are super sold on working with me and I am in love with what you're looking to do, I'm sure we can work something out. Feel free to email me with your proposal.> Can I use / print your artwork for XYZ?
It depends. If it’s for commercial use (selling physical or digital goods, stream/video thumbnails, reposting, advertisements, training AI, social media posts, pretty much anything you could make money/clout off of, etc) then no. Unless you are a company I have made artwork specifically for, please do not use my works for commercial purposes. For personal use (phone wallpapers, personal printing, studies, pretty much anything you don't make money off of/don't post online, etc) then go for it! What you do in your own time that isn't being posted online is none of my business.

Art + Personal Work Inquires

> What software do you use?
For art, I use FireAlpaca 2.7.8 (yes, the specific version matters) for everything. For video editing, I use Kdenlive for the bulk of it, but Audacity for voice recording and Reaper for sound editing.> What hardware do you use?
My computer is a Dell XPS 8910 that was a hand me down from my mom. At the moment, it has a Intel i7-6700 CPU, 48 GBs of RAM, a 200 GB SSD for the operating system and major apps, a 1 TB HDD for storage and games, and a NVIDIA 750 Ti graphics card. Mostly older models, but they serve my purposes well. Otherwise I use the OneOdio Pro 10s for my headset (Don't buy unless you have some solid EQ skills the bass is insufferable out the box), a FIFINE K669B for my microphone, and a Huion Kamvas 13 Pro for my drawing tablet.> Are you on XYZ Platform?
Unless it is linked on this website in the my links tab, then no. I am mostly active on Tumblr, but check my Bluesky and Youtube every so often for notifications. If there is an account claiming to be me on any other platform and it is not directly linked to this website, then it is not me.> Can I copy/trace your art for practice?
Yeah, if you really want! I think there are many other better/more experienced artists you can do studies of, but if you really want to study my style specifically, go for it. Whatever you do in your own privacy (personal sketchbooks, art that isn't posted online, etc) is none of my business and I honestly could not care less what you do. No need to ask for permission for any personal works.> Can I copy/trace your art AND post it online?
I would rather not. Art that pulls inspiration from mine? Absolutely, no problem. I take inspiration, even heavy inspiration, from artists I like all the time, sometimes without even noticing. Straight up copying/tracing my work, even with credit? Not only is that pretty disrespectful, but it's also hurting you. I could go on and on about artistic motivations and such, but I don't want to write an essay so I will leave you with two things. 1) Your motivation for becoming an artist should never ever be about money or attention/clout. 2) Don't post your art online as a beginner, or at least not to any major social medias. Just do stuff because you love doing it, and surround yourself with people that are kind and want to see you grow.
(I got my start posting art online on a small ~100ish person discord server with alot of people both at my skill level and around my age. Best choice I've ever made both as an artist and as a person.)> What brushes do you use?
For the most part, literally just the default pen in FireAlpaca with pressure sensitivity turned off. Everything else I occasionally use can be found for free in the FireAlpaca brush store. I use some calligraphy/marker brush for sketching, The default Airbrush for Gradients, and sometimes a polka dot, halftone, and paint splotch brush for texture.

> How long have you been drawing?
Ever since my older sister was into warrior cats when I was a kid, so around 2014, give or take. Digitally I have been drawing since 2019, I started taking art seriously around 2021, and I found about the same style I have today around 2023.> What's your favorite piece of media?
Despite its flaws (and trust me, it has many flaws) I am very fond of Persona 4 Golden (Video Game). Other than that, Darling Syndrome by Kairiki Bear (Album), Nichijou: My Ordinary Life (Anime), ALOHA INOHA by INOHA (Album), Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky (Video Game), Castoff (Webcomic), Rebirth by Ivycomb (Album), Persona 3 Reload (Video Game), Homestuck (Webcomic), and A Hat in Time (Video Game) are also some of my favorites.> What is your artstyle called?
I... don't think it has much of a name, LOL. It's kind of a weird combination of creators I've looked up to throughout my life, and I have quite a few variants on my style I like to pull out, so I don't think there is one particular name for it. I guess it's kind of anime-inspired in a second hand sort of way.> Who are your inspirations?
I think the people with the most profound effects on my style are Lupis Vulpez (I don't agree with her actions, but I would be insane to not mention her art's effects on me as a creative), Marikyuun, SOWAO, Critterbitter, and Kaatokun. Honorable mentions go to Zipsunz, onebadnoodle, fourleafisland, Pemprika, and ir-dr. Some media that has also influenced my art is Animal Jam, Epithet Erased, Toilet Bound Hanako-kun, Panty and Stocking, Persona 5 Tactica, and Homestuck.> Will you rejoin Ant Mountain / Make a second Antfarm video?
Probably not. I made a tumblr post going more in depth about my feelings, but long story short I don’t have the time to be active in the community and I don’t have the interest in doing the research. I’ll never say never, but knowing my stubborn ass it’s probably not going to happen. If anyone wants to take up the project though you are more than welcome to.> What’s your favorite color?
I like pretty much every color! My favorite changes every so often, but if you asked me right now I'd probably say a bright orange or yellow.> What are your pronouns?

Sharks, Seals, Sea Lions, Ibis, Fish, Hawks, generally just sea creatures and some birds.> Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have a cat (Maine Coon mix, 14 yros), a Golden Retriever (9 yros), and a German Shepard mix (5 yros).
